A memory jar is the perfect way to keep up with all the special, little memories we all seem to forget throughout the year! What a great tradition to start!
I know I always find myself reminiscing on the little moments at the end of the year every year and sometimes I find it hard to remember them all. I really wanted a simple way to keep and cherish those memories so the mason jar memory jar was born! Sure you could keep a notepad on the counter with a pen or a file on your computer, but this way is the best!
So this is what you do to make your own:
Gather up a few materials. All you will need is a jar, decorative accents, and paper! Decorate your jar using anything you would like and use your imagination! I did decorate our family jar slightly girly, but hopefully no one will mind! It doesn’t have to be fancy anyway, just something you won’t mind looking at all year.I took the simple route and made a tag using my cricut machine reading “Memories 2014″.
Then I made a monogram tag that is hanging from the lid; S, which is the initial in our last name!
I also made the lid look a little pretty as well. It might have been a good idea to make a small slit in lid, so that the paper could be inserted that way!
And that was it! I can’t wait to make this a yearly tradition and collect them for years to come! I might even have to find a larger jar so that many memories will fit inside.
