DIY Moroccan Mason Jar Lantern - Beautiful Upcycled Jars
These Moroccan-inspired lanterns are easy, and don't take as long to make as you might think.
You don't have to be an artist or have any kind of special drawing abilities whatsoever in order to make your very own set of these stylish jars that will be perfect for any room, or anyone.
The supplies are inexpensive, and can be found at Walmart, Lowes, Home Depot, you name it!
If you're not recycling your jars, then simply get creative and reuse them. It's a shame to see glass in the trash.
You will need:
* Glass paint (Delta or Pebeo Vitrea glass paint) -OR- simply use Mod Podge and food coloring to get the desired color, and then paint it onto the inside of the jars!
* Mason jars, jam jars, olive jars, pickle jars, sauce jars, or whatever jars you want to use!
* Gold dimensional puff paint!
* The candles of your choice.
Making the craft:
One thing that isn't in these photos, is epson salt. If you use a white candle like the ones you see, you can add epson salt around the candle which will be easier to clean up wax after a while of using your new lantern, and it also adds just another layer of style. To be more clear, pour epson salt about 2-3 inches high in the jar before placing your candle in the car.
You don't have to follow the design or patterns of these jars to end up with a very stylish and cool piece of jar-art, so feel free to change it up, and send us your photos when you are finished!
