How to Make Minty Grasshopper Pies Using a Mason Jar

This particular pie is one you don't want to miss out on! It is easy to make, absolutely delicious, and makes the perfect gift, snack for the road, or item for your booth at the farmers market or flea market.

The recipe is very simple to put together. First, credit is due to the people over at tipjunkie.com for the recipe.

Ingredients

Crust

* 1 package (39 cookies) Oreo cookies.

* 1/2 cup melted butter

Filling

* 1 tub (7 oz) Marshmallow creme.

* 1 teaspoon peppermint extract (or more if stronger flavor is desired).

* 6 drops green food coloring.

* 1 tub (8 oz. or 2 cups) Cool Whip

Ready to make it? Here we go!

1. Supplies
2. Pulse/Blend Oreos
3. Crumbled Oreos
4. Pouring Butter

Reserve two tablespoons for the garnish when you are finished, then pour in your 1/2 cup of butter while processing.

5. Getting Ready
6. Forming Pie Crust

Drop a couple of scoops of the Oreo crumbs you've made into 4 oz jars. Use your fingers to press from the middle to the outer edges to form your pie crust, leaving a hole in the middle for the filling.

Put your jar with newly formed pie crust into the freezer for half an hour, allowing them to firm up a bit before adding your filling to them.

7. Whipping Filling
8. Spooning in Filling

Now, after removing your pie crust from the freezer, go ahead and 'spoon in' your filling that you've mixed together.

If the pie crusts are frozen, the crumbs won't stick to the filling as it is spread around.

9. Garnish Top
10. Done!

And lastly, take those couple of tablespoons that you reserved and sprinkle it over the top of the filling for an added touch of garnish.

Now THAT is a tasty treat!
